On Sunday, July 13, Johnston and Matthews made a series of measurements of potential street width bottlenecks, some by pace-off, most by laser rangefinder, to estimate existing facade-to-facade distances across the avenue. These measurements should be accurate to plus or minus a foot or two, with most of the uncertainty being due to approximations in instrument location relative to center of street center lane.
